The stage plot is your technical "road map" which dictates everything from what equipment is present in any production to where it belongs on the stage, to any tech requirements needed to make productions run smoother.
If you are a(n) :
Band- To send to the venue, so they can be prepared for all the technical requirements needed for your band. Audio Engineer- To understand the input list, to help you route, to understand positioning of the band, for specific audio gear requirements, to understand the needs of the band mix or requests.
Backline Company- To understand the gear requirements for a particular production.
Church - To understand positioning, and tech requirements in an ever revolving, rotating cast of musicians and volunteers.
Event Planner- To prepare for the event and dispersing the stage plot to the tech crew or any even personnel.
Stage Right and Stage Left is always in terms of the performers point of view.
If the performer is looking at the audience, the area on their right is referred to as "Stage Right". The area in the middle is: "Center Stage". The area to their left is "Stage Left".
